     In October 2008,Amrita TV had launched its novel reality show, Best Citizen Journalist-2 on prime time with 15 ordinary,but inspired citizens,competing with each other for the top spot.

Spread over 64 episodes(Mon-Thu 9.30 pm),contestants filed independent stories in diverse segments, such as, Story Round ,Investigation Round, Anti-Corruption Round, Crusader Round and Special Story Round

The reality show really helps to discover and nurture young talent in the field of television journalism. 

Though the focus is on developing a new breed of fresh talent who will possess fresh perspectives to television journalism, Best Citizen Journalist will not be considering either professional journalists or those qualified in journalism

This type of reality shows are no doubt an outlet for young and aspiring artistes in greater value than those of entertainment-driven reality shows, profit motive of multinational companies are often stand behind such shows, especially the mobile operators, So many reality shows such as Big Boss which are hardly near to real life sentiments and dissillusioned audience as a result, missing laws on addressing the excessive expressions due to these episodes.

  

Though every reality shows start in the name of finding talent, there are many factors that changes the mood of the contest. first one is  the exorbitant sums offered as prizes. the offers coming for the winners often seems the illusions of business purpose. at back competetors spent large amount of money to attract the judges and audience and profit motives of mobile operators often backs the producers of such reality show.

In few words, we must encourage the type of reality show by Amritha TV , even they backs on profits we can see, in contrast to other types, they make encourage newer talent in journalism culture as well as in result such a journalist are in multiple ways effect on society.
